The 30-day plank challenge is the simplest way to build real core strength: one exercise, a few minutes a day, and a target that climbs from 20 seconds on Day 1 to 5 minutes on Day 30.
It is also the challenge people quit most often around Day 10, when the holds start to burn. Doing it with friends changes that. In RallyStreak your crew sees who has held today’s plank, a built-in timer counts you in, and a single nudge from a friend is usually enough to get you on the floor.

30-day schedule
Today’s target for hold a plank (minutes:seconds). R is a rest day. Each person can pick Easy (70% of every target), Standard or Hard (130%).
How to do it
- Get into a forearm plank: elbows under shoulders, body in one straight line from head to heels.
- Squeeze your glutes and brace your stomach as if someone is about to poke it. Breathe slowly.
- Hold for today’s target. If your hips sag or you feel it in your lower back, stop and log what you did: partial days still count toward your progress.
- Rest on the four rest days. They are part of the plan, not a break from it.
The rules
- 3 strikes allowed; when strikes run out you are out, but stay on the board to cheer the others.
- 4 planned rest days.
- Your day runs midnight to midnight in your time zone, and you can still check in until 3 AM.
- Missed yesterday? Up to two earlier days can be logged, marked “logged late” for the group to see.
Doing it with friends
Start the 30-Day Plank challenge in RallyStreak, pick a start date and share one link. Friends join free in under 30 seconds. From Day 1 everyone checks in on their own phone, the board shows the whole crew’s streaks, and a single nudge reminds whoever hasn’t gone yet.
FAQ
Is a 30-day plank challenge good for beginners?
Yes. Day 1 is a 20-second hold and the target grows gradually, with four rest days. In RallyStreak each person can pick Easy (70% of each target), Standard or Hard (130%), so friends of different fitness levels can do the same challenge together.
What results can I expect after 30 days of planks?
Most people find they can hold a plank several times longer than on Day 1, with better posture and a stronger core. Planks alone will not change body fat much; the real win is the daily habit and core endurance.
What if I miss a day?
The plank challenge allows three strikes. A missed day uses one and resets your streak, but you stay in the challenge. You can also log yesterday until 3 AM, and up to two earlier days marked as “logged late”.
